Privacy Policy — Profile Launcher
Effective date: 30 August 2026
Last updated: 10 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of Profile Launcher (“we”, “us”, “the developer”) handles information in connection with the Profile Launcher Android application (package com.swni.ProfileLauncher) available on Google Play.
This document is intended for Google Play Data safety and in-app disclosure. It describes processing that actually occurs in the current product.
1. Summary
Profile Launcher is a home-screen replacement. Your Profiles, Dock, Drawer, desktop layout, Notes, and chosen images are stored on your device. We do not operate an account system, we do not run advertising, and we do not embed third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs. If the app crashes, a diagnostic report is written to on-device cache storage; it is never sent anywhere automatically, and is transmitted only if you choose to email it to support. We do not sell personal data.
2. Who is responsible
The developer of the Profile Launcher app.
Contact: swetni.official@gmail.com
3. Information processed on your device
The following is stored in the app’s private storage on your device and is not uploaded to servers operated by the developer:
- Profiles you create or switch, including names and settings.
- Desktop, Dock, and Drawer layout (Item and Cell placement).
- Notes you write and images you attach to Notes.
- Background images you choose (copied into private app storage).
- Photos on your device, when you open the Gallery feature. Gallery reads your photo library only to display it and to let you open, sort, capture, or delete images. Photos are never copied off your device by us and are never uploaded to any server operated by the developer. Deleting a photo from Gallery goes through the Android system delete-confirmation dialog. You can grant access to all photos or only a selected set, and you can revoke it in Android Settings; Gallery can also be turned off entirely by the developer via app configuration.
- App preferences (for example theme, gesture, and home-screen options).
- The list of launchable apps on the device, used only to populate the Drawer and home screen (required for a launcher).
- A local cache of your Pro purchase entitlement, used to unlock paid features. This cache is not trusted from backup; entitlement is re-verified with Google Play Billing.
Biometric or device-credential unlock (when you enable Privacy locking for hidden apps or Notes) is performed by the Android operating system on the device. We do not receive, store, or transmit fingerprints, face templates, or your lock-screen PIN/pattern/password.
4. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, and the app is not designed to transmit to the developer:
- Name, email, phone number, or other account identity (the app has no sign-in).
- Precise or approximate location as a data product we store or send to us.
- Advertising IDs or analytics events to third-party SDKs. (Crash diagnostics stay in on-device cache unless you email them to support yourself.)
- Payment card details (purchases are handled by Google Play).
- Contents of other apps, except the package list and launch labels needed to show and start installed apps.
Photos: if you use the optional Gallery feature, the app reads your device photo library on-device to show, sort, capture, and delete images. This content is not collected by, transmitted to, or stored by the developer.
5. Network use
The INTERNET permission is used to:
- Complete and restore Pro purchases through Google Play Billing.
- Carry out a web search if you enable the optional "web search fall-through" in the Drawer and then run a search. When you do, the text you typed is handed to your device's default browser or search app, which sends it to that third party's search engine under their own terms and privacy policy. The developer does not receive, log, or store your search queries.
We do not use the network to send your Profiles, Notes, layouts, or images to the developer.
6. Permissions (why they exist)
Permissions are requested for launcher and device features, typically when the related feature is used:
- QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES — enumerate installed apps so the Drawer and home screen can list and launch them.
- INTERNET — Google Play Billing and optional web search.
- USE_BIOMETRIC — unlock Privacy-locked Notes or hidden apps on the device.
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 12 and below) — display and manage your photos in the Gallery feature. Requested only when you open Gallery; denying it disables only that feature.
- EXPAND_STATUS_BAR — optional status-bar gesture.
- ACCESS_WIFI_STATE — optional Wi-Fi related Profile behaviour.
- WRITE_SETTINGS / MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS — optional brightness and volume controls on Dashboard-style layouts.
- SET_ALARM — open or set an alarm in a compatible clock app.
Android may also show system dialogs for widgets, notifications, or other OS features you enable. Denying a permission disables the related feature; the rest of the launcher continues to work.
7. Third parties
Google LLC (Google Play): in-app purchases and licence checks are processed by Google Play Billing under Google’s terms and privacy policy. The developer does not receive your full payment instrument details.
Google LLC (Android backup): if Android Auto Backup / cloud backup is enabled on your device and the app’s backup path runs, an allow-listed subset of local data (the app database, backgrounds/, and notes/ images) may be copied to your own Google Drive under your own Google account. The developer cannot access that backup. Pro entitlement files are excluded from backup. You control backup in Android / Google account settings.
We do not embed advertising networks, analytics vendors, or crash SDKs.
8. Children
Profile Launcher is a general-audience home screen. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact the email below and we will delete anything we hold (which, for this app, is typically nothing on our servers).
9. Retention, deletion, and your choices
On-device data remains until you clear the app’s storage, uninstall the app, or delete specific content in the app. Uninstalling removes the app’s private storage on that device. Copies that Android Backup already stored in your Google account remain under your Google account until you delete them through Google / device-transfer settings.
You can revoke permissions in Android Settings. You can disable Auto Backup in system settings. You can manage or request a refund for Play purchases through Google Play, not through this app.
Because we do not operate a user database, we generally cannot remotely delete data that exists only on your device. Uninstall or clear storage is the deletion method.
10. Security
Data is stored in Android app-private storage. We do not use a WebView. We do not sell or rent personal data. No security measure is perfect; you should keep the device lock enabled if you store sensitive Notes.
11. International use
Processing described here occurs on your device and, where applicable, on Google’s infrastructure for Play Billing and Android Backup. Google’s own policies apply to those services.
12. Changes
We may update this policy when the product or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy for future use. Material changes will be reflected in the app listing and in-app text as soon as practicable.

For Google Play Data safety: declare that the app does not collect or share user data with developer-operated servers; that installed-app listing is processed on device for launcher functionality; that purchases are handled by Google Play; that crash diagnostics are kept on device and only user-initiated email can send them; that the optional web-search feature hands the user's typed query to their own browser/search app (no collection by the developer); and that optional Android Backup may store user-generated content in the user’s own Google account. This Privacy Policy is also published at a public URL and linked from the Play Store listing and the app's About screen.
